Is it legal to own a ballistic shield as a civilian?
Yes. Ballistic shields are not regulated as weapons in the Czech Republic or most EU countries; owning one as a civilian is legal. Draft copy. Final text by Pohner.
What is the difference between NIJ III-A and NIJ III?
NIJ III-A covers handgun threats up to .44 Magnum. NIJ III stops rifle rounds including 7.62×51 NATO. For unknown threats we recommend the military shield rated NIJ III.
Can I request the complete test protocols?
Yes. Results from an accredited state testing institute are available on request for every product, and certificates can be downloaded with each product.
How long do production and delivery take?
Shields are hand-built in Hradec Králové. Typical production and EU delivery take a few weeks depending on the current queue. Draft copy. Final text by Pohner.
How should I store and maintain the shield?
Store dry, away from direct sunlight. The composite panel needs no maintenance; after a bullet impact the shield must be retired or assessed by the manufacturer. Draft copy. Final text by Pohner.
